Swindon College is the largest provider of higher education courses in Wiltshire. They have migrated over the summer from Sirsi Unicorn to Heritage.
The decision to move to Heritage was made earlier this year, and the data migration and training was undertaken over the summer break. Students at the college will be able to take advantage of all the great new features in Heritage Online when they return to their studies in September.
South Thames College is a multi-site further education college in south-west London. Formerly OLIB users, they recently merged with Merton College, who were using Heritage.
After a lengthy tender process and demonstrations they decided to adopt Heritage for their harmonised catalogoue. There are now three sites with learning resource centres - Wandsworth, Tooting and Merton. There are approximately 27,000 students and 1,550 staff. A move to Heritage has enabled the college to enhance and improve their services while at the same time reducing their annual support costs significantly.
A new Offline Circulation Module is now available for use with Heritage.
It is an optional, standalone module which allows issues and returns to be recorded when the library system is unavailable e.g. because of network problems or server failure.
Transactions can be recorded at multiple locations and imported in to the live system once it is available again. Unlike many other library management systems, there is no requirement to load the off-line data before circulation resumes (although it is advisable to do it soon afterwards). The module is priced at £325 plus VAT (multi-site users can have multiple copies at no extra charge).
King Edward VI College is a specialist A-level Sixth Form College for Stourbridge and the surrounding area.
Heritage was selected earlier this year as a replacement to the old Calm system that had been in place at the college for many years.
HR Wallingford is a highly-respected environmental research facility with a diverse range of stock and specialist requirements.
They provide world-leading analysis, advice and support in engineering and environmental hydraulics, and in the management of water and the water environment. Library staff there will be using Heritage to manage a wide range of documentation, including books, reports, electronic documents and even Admiralty charts!
A new Heritage Block has been created for Moodle, and is now available for for free download from the Heritage Support website for supported customers.
The block enables users of Heritage and Moodle to provide a library search and account information for logged-in users. Heritage users should visit www.heritagesupport.com for further information.
