What range of media do you hold in your library? Is it all catalogued on Heritage?
-
Books, journals, some dvds, webpages, documents and grey literature, council minutes and associated documents. All is catalogued on to Heritage.
-
Can you remember where you first heard about Heritage? Did you look at our website before contacting us?
-
Heritage was up and running when I took over the post in 2003. I don’t know the history of how Heritage was selected.
-
What are your overall impressions of ISOxford staff (this includes Sales, Training and Support staff, plus any Developers you may have dealt with)?
-
Based on my experience I have found them excellent and very good to deal with.
-
What did you think of the Heritage training?
-
There were three new library staff who started in 2003 including myself and a new Archivist also started at the same time. The four of us attended Heritage training in Oxford and found it extremely useful, comprehensive, clear and overall excellent.
-
How have you found the support service from ISstaff?
-
Excellent. Very quick to reply to emails and/or telephone calls. Answers are clear and concise and if there are still problems in understanding the issue the staff take the time to speak in a no jargon fashion and will work with us until the problem is sorted or at least until there is some resolution.
-
Have you used the support website? How useful did you find it?
-
Yes. Find it very useful for the helpsheets and for upgrading versions of Heritage.
-
Are you a member of Marvin, our list server? Do you find Marvin a useful service?
-
Yes. I am always checking the emails for ones that would be of use to me now or in the future and keep a record of some of them. I have also sent messages to Marvin and found the answers useful. It is a great resource.
-
How has Heritage improved the day-to-day running of the library and services offered to your users?
-
Being able to keep track of various documents around the College has been useful and notes about important Council meetings are also recorded on Heritage. We are currently looking at using Heritage to rota the journals which will stream line that job even more.
-
What are your favourite features in Heritage?
-
Checking in journals, so easy, I can’t believe how fast it is. Enquiry and the subsequent display screens are very clear and easy to understand and read, very user friendly. Really like the overall user friendliness of the system for customers and well as users.
-
Do you have any other comments you would like to make about ISOxford or Heritage? Would you recommend it/us to other libraries?
-
Would totally recommend it. Have had librarians speak to me in the past about Heritage and even come look at our system. I always talk highly of it and the team in Oxford.
Royal College of Psychiatrists have been using Heritage since 1999. They currently have four additional full access licences, five OPAC licences, the Serials Management Module (including Acquisitions), the Reader Import Module, the Server Performance Pack and the Heritage Online module.
