The Excellence Gateway is an independent, external, website containing a number of case studies, many of which focus specifically on Heritage users. These case studies cover a number of different topics, but what they all demonstrate is just how powerful Heritage is and how much of a difference it makes to the libraries using it.

Two case studies focus on the use of the Heritage Self-Service module, for example Harrogate College implemented an RFID system supplied by D-Tech, whilst Exeter College chose instead to opt for an EM solution.

Blackburn College wrote a case study for the Excellence Gateway outlining how they use Heritage to catalogue and loan photographic equipment (cameras, batteries, flash cards etc).

Tresham College of Further and Higher Education wrote a case study for the Excellence Gateway outlining how the information offered by Heritage's flexible reporter was used to help integrate the learning resources with the curriculum and ultimately double the amount of resources borrowed by learners.

Greenhead College stream video content via Moodle, to enable concurrent viewing of content for all students and staff twenty four hours a day and seven days a week. All content is catalogued in Heritage, making it easy to locate the videos available for a particular subject.

South Staffordshire College took advantage of 3,000 free e-books through an initiative funded by the former Learning and Skills Council (LSC) in collaboration with JISC and JISC Collections. A usage report, dated August 2010, showed that the College was the top e-book user in the UK with almost double the usage of any other learning provider.

Lewisham College's learner portal, eME, delivers personalised information to learners rather than requiring users to search for it within a mass of college systems. Heritage is one of the college systems which has been integrated into this portal.

Birmingham Metropolitan College have integrated Heritage with the MyPC booking system.
