Our monthly 'dress down' day raised funds on their behalf.

On the first Monday of each month IS staff can come to the Chapel in their casual clothes in return for a donation of £2 to the charity being supported. Staff can nominate any good cause they feel deserves a bit of extra help. This month Great Ormond Street Hospital was nominated by Paul Gellatly, our Support Manager:

“Whilst the British Heart Foundation is a charity close to my … heart, when my brother was a baby he was diagnosed with a hole in his. My family, who were only barely in their twenties, having relocated from Scotland only months before, lived in Ashford Kent at the time when he became quite ill. They had no family support as they were 600 miles away and had no real friends to lean on during this traumatic time. The parent care provided by Great Ormond Street Hospital was incredibly important. Ordinarily leaving your child in the hands of doctors and nurses miles away from home, they were able to provide accommodation on site so that my mum or dad could be there for him during his lengthy stay in hospital. This charity is currently looking to build new accommodation , amongst other projects and is something , unless you have the misfortune of needing, you would never truly appreciate the comfort this can give you and your family.”
